Reference case: current collimation system without crystals, nominal settings

Description of this case:

Reference loss map for beam 1 in case, horizontal halo with present collimations system at 7 TeV and collision optics, with nominal settings.
B*=0.55m in IP1 and IP5; and B*=10m in IP2 and IP8.

B*=0.55m in IP1 and IP5; and B*=10m in IP2 and IP8.

Crystal case, channeling mode

Description of this case:

Expected loss map for beam 1 in case of horizontal halo for crystal assisted collimation at 7 TeV and collision optics.
B*=0.55m in IP1 and IP5; and B*=10m in IP2 and IP8.

Layout for minimal crystal assisted collimation tests, composed of 1 horizontal crystal in channeling orientation at 6 sigma and 1 TCSG in place (TCSG.6R7). All other IR7 TCSG are retracted, while TCLA are still in place. Collimators outside IR7 have the same nominal settings at 7 TeV as for present collimation.
Crystal s position: 19919.24 m
Crystal dimensions: x*y*z = 2*50*4 mm (z is along the beam direction, x-y transverse plane)
